Introduction to Lesson 4
If you walked to the National Mall in Washington DC you would see monuments that represent thousands of men and women who gave their lives for their country.
In the Bible we also read about a conflict — one that exceeds any battle known to man– a conflict like no other. Using the kings of Tyre and Babylon as figurative representatives of evil, Scripture illustrates a conflict of universal proportions between Good and Evil, God and Satan. We call it the Great Controversy or the Conflict of the Ages.
Yet in the Bible we learn even while the battle rages that the war has already been won. Therein lies our Great Hope. The only battle that remains is the one in our hearts. As we discuss our topic today, we must claim the Great Hope–so that victory will be ours.
